In the heart of the South Atlantic Ocean, St Helena island will host the World’s Most Remote Marathon on 22 February 2026. Leave behind the crowded city circuits for an endurance challenge that carves a path across the island’s breathtaking, contrasting landscapes. Crossing this finish line on the ocean edge in Jamestown secures your legacy, placing you among a select few who have conquered the World’s Most Remote Marathon. The tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between Africa & South America will host the World’s Most Remote Marathon as a centrepiece of its Adventure Week in 2026. The scenic race course is a run through history, showcasing landmarks on its rolling run from the leafy green highlands down to the rugged rocky shores of the emerald isle cast in bronze. Enjoy running on forested lanes, rugged mountainside trails and windswept cliff paths overlooking the endless, warm turquoise ocean. You’ll be taking on a landscape of raw and wild nature whether you choose the full 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km or 5km distances. Don’t just visit to run; St Helena offers a wealth of experiences to enjoy before you reach the start line and after you collect your medal. Adventure Week coincides with the Festival of Walking, where guided hikes led by local historians and conservationists showcase the island’s secrets on foot.
