Western Province Downhill MTB Training & Race Weekend Gear up for a thrilling mountain biking experience at the Western Province Downhill MTB Training & Race Weekend, a key fixture on South Africa’s MTB calendar. Set across two action-packed days, the event kicks off on Saturday with Training & Shuttle Day, followed by Race Day on Sunday, delivering adrenaline-pumping downhill action for riders of all levels. Hosted by WP Downhill, the event features structured training blocks for beginner and experienced riders, category-based shuttle sessions, timed race runs, and podium awards. From Nippers to Elites, everyone gets the chance to refine skills, test limits, and race against the clock on a world-class track. Strict licensing rules apply, with CSA membership and racing licenses mandatory for participation. All riders are grouped by age category based on Cycling South Africa’s official classifications. Riders under 8 years old are not permitted in events exceeding 10km or DHI.
