Durban, it’s time to lace up and line up!

The Savages Challenge 2026 takes place on Sunday, 16 August 2026, starting at 06:30 in Durban. Hosted by Savages Athletic Club, this race brings together competitive athletes, club runners, social joggers, first-timers, comeback kings, weekend warriors, and anyone brave enough to answer the call.

Choose your challenge:

• 21.1km for the runners chasing glory, grit, and maybe a new PB.
• 10km for those ready to test the legs and earn the bragging rights.  
• 5km for the social crew, the families, the fun runners, and the “I said I’d start running this year” crowd.

With R40,000 in total prize money, equal prize money for women and men, medals for all finishers, the freshest race shirts and a buzzing prize giving from 09:00, this is more than just another Sunday run.

21.1km – R275  | 10km – R225 | 5km – R90  

Late entries will be available at race number collection, subject to availability.

Race number collection will take place at:

Kingfisher Canoe Club  

9 Stiebel Place, Durban  

Saturday, 15 August 2026  

10:00 – 16:00

Online entries close on 13 August 2026.

Important Race Information

The event will be held in accordance with WA, ASA and KZNA rules.

Licensed athletes must wear their provincial licence numbers correctly. Temporary licences are required for non-ASA affiliated runners participating in the applicable distances.

The minimum age requirement is 16 years for the 10km and 19 years for the 21.1km.

The cut-off time for both the 10km and 21.1km is 3 hours.
