The NFNF Original 2026 takes place from Friday, 21 August to Sunday, 23 August 2026 in the Swellendam region of the Western Cape.
Now in its 8th edition, The NFNF Original is where No Frills No Fuss adventure racing began. This annual adventure race has become a standout event for teams looking for route choice, tricky terrain, navigation, endurance, and a proper wild outdoor challenge.
The 2026 edition promises to showcase a beautiful part of the Western Cape, with towering peaks, rivers, gravel roads, and varied terrain. Teams can choose between 40km, 100km, and 150km adventure race options, each combining a mix of mountain biking, trekking or hiking, kayaking, navigation, and possible added disciplines.
The 40km race is aimed at novice adventure racers and families, while the 100km is suited to both beginners and experienced teams looking for a longer day out. The 150km is designed for experienced teams ready for a 24-hour adventure racing challenge.
Teams must be competent in navigation, map reading, compass use, and the disciplines required for the event. Inflatable boats are required for all distances, and final equipment details will be shared in race communications closer to the event.
