The Lifeguard Challenge | 2027

Experience the stunning False Bay coastline like never before with The Lifeguard Challenge, a unique 6km RunSwim race between Simon's Town and Fish Hoek. In collaboration with and supporting the Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club, this inaugural event offers an exhilarating mix of running and swimming. This route is a regular training ground for Fish Hoek's elite surf lifesavers and lifeguards, who volunteer their time during Cape Town's summer months. Pair up with a friend, family member, or partner, and take on this challenge together! Teams will start at Simon's Town Long Beach and finish at Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club, tackling 4 runs totaling 5km and 4 swims totaling 1km. The longest run is 2km, and the longest swim is approximately 500m, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned athletes. Compete in one of two categories: The Otters (race category) for those chasing podium finishes and prizes, or The Penguins (adventure category) for those focused on fun and completion. Prizes will be awarded to the first all-male, all-female, and mixed teams. Choose your partner wisely and join us for an unforgettable coastal adventure!
