Experience an unforgettable night at Muratie Wine Estate with a spectacular Sunset to Full Moon Hike on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. Watch the sun dip behind the mountains as the full moon rises over the vineyards — a breathtaking combination that makes this one of the most atmospheric hikes in the Cape Winelands.

🌄 A Scenic 3.3km Sunset Adventure

Follow a new circular 3.3km route winding through vineyards and forest paths:

• 1.63km ascent to the lookout point
• 1.68km descent back to Dirtopia Trail Centre
• 20–45 minutes to the top, depending on your pace

From the lookout, enjoy panoramic views of Simonsberg, the Winelands, and even Table Mountain. Muratie wines — including MCC, Dry Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, and Melck’s Dry Red — are available to purchase by the glass or bottle.

🌕 Moonlit Forest Descent

Once the sun sets and the moon rises (visible around 19h35), begin your 20–30 minute descent through forest trails illuminated by headlamp. It’s a serene, magical way to experience Muratie after dark.
