Strandloper Trail Run | 2026

The Strandloper Trail Run is a challenging and scenic trail running event that takes place along the rugged and pristine coastline of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. The race is named after the indigenous Khoi people, who were known as Strandlopers, or beachcombers, due to their lifestyle of living off the land and sea. The event consists of a two-day stage race, covering a total distance of approximately 60 kilometers. The route takes runners through some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, including pristine beaches, coastal forests, and rocky cliffs. The terrain is varied and challenging, with steep climbs, technical descents, and rocky paths, making it a true test of the runners' physical and mental endurance. The race is open to runners of all levels of experience, with different categories available to cater for varying levels of fitness and experience. Participants can choose to run solo or in teams of two, with each team member required to complete the entire course.
