Join us for Peak #1: Vensterberg, a rewarding guided mountain hike near George that kicks off the first challenge in the Peak Series. This 5 km out-and-back hike climbs approximately 532 m in elevation, offering a solid workout and unforgettable views for reasonably fit hikers. Expect a 4–5 hour adventure through fresh mountain air, rugged terrain, and meaningful connections with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

As you approach the summit, you’ll encounter a unique rock “window” formation—a natural highlight that frames sweeping views over George and the surrounding landscape. This hike is about more than reaching the top; it’s about shared effort, great conversations, and the satisfaction of conquering the first peak and earning your official token.

Compulsory Gear

Participants must carry the following for safety and comfort:

• Lightweight hydration pack or backpack
• Enough water and trail food
• Sunscreen, hat, and comfortable hiking shoes
• Windproof jacket or fleece (layering recommended)
• Beanie and gloves depending on weather
• Space blanket, emergency energy bar, basic bandage
• Small petroleum jelly for chafing

Note: Hikes may be postponed in heavy rain, but a waterproof jacket is always recommended.
