The Run The Vines 2026 Series, presented by First Ascent, is a vibrant trail running and walking series that takes participants through some of the most beautiful wine farms across the Drakenstein, Breede River, Worcester, Paarl, Boland, and surrounding Western Cape wine regions.
Created by Onsite Events and running since 2015, Run The Vines offers runners and walkers the chance to discover new wine farms, scenic vineyard trails, private farm routes, mountain views, great food, wine, live music, and warm local hospitality. Each event is designed to be welcoming and accessible, allowing participants to run or walk at their own pace while enjoying a relaxed outdoor experience.
The 2026 series includes 13 events, with routes hosted at well-known wine estates and farms including Van Loveren, Landskroon, Ayama, Anura, De Wet Cellar, D’Aria, Vrede en Lust, Fairview, Rhebokskloof, Kloovenburg, Slanghoek Kelder, Perdeberg, Jason’s Hill, and Doolhof.

- 10km Run/Walk
- 17km Trail Run
- 3km Kids Run for children under 8, accompanied by an adult
The 5km and 10km routes may be walked, with no cut-off times on those distances. The 17km is a run-only distance and may include cut-off times depending on the specific event.
Series Entry Options
Only 50 series entries are available for 2026.
- 5km Run/Walk Series: R3,000
- 10km Run/Walk Series: R3,400
- 17km Run Series: R3,700
All events are timed by BoutTime, and a permanent timing tag is included in the series entry.

Series Benefits
Run The Vines series entrants receive a strong value package, including a First Ascent branded running tee, Run The Vines socks and cap, a permanent timing tag, a 32Gi nutrition pack, online discounts from First Ascent and 32Gi, medal rewards, and an invitation to the year-end awards dinner.
Participants who complete 12 of the 13 events qualify to receive a bottle of wine from each participating farm at the awards dinner.
