Hope Challenge | 2026

The Hope Challenge Marathon 2026 takes place on 7 November 2026, at the Amphitheatre on Durban Promenade in KwaZulu-Natal. Organised by Ethekwini Athletic Club, this coastal road running event brings together marathoners, competitive athletes and recreational runners for an early-morning challenge along Durban’s beachfront.

🌊 Participants can choose between a 42.2km Marathon, 21.1km Half Marathon and 10km Road Race. The marathon is a Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier, making the event a valuable opportunity for endurance runners working towards South Africa’s major ultra-distance races.
