Race Information
Narnia Adventure Hike. Rugged 12km circuit with tunnel, stream crossings, waterfall and 591m elevation gain.
(-33.9468783, 22.4572772)
The Narnia Adventure Hike is a rugged 12km guided hiking experience designed for more experienced hikers looking for something beyond the ordinary. With approximately 591m elevation gain and a difficulty rating of 5/10, this adventure takes around 5 to 6 hours to complete.
The hike starts at 07h00 from the Trail Kiosk in Arbour Road, with participants asked to arrive by 06h45. From the start, the route heads up toward the Cross before continuing in an anti-clockwise direction via Thunderbird and toward the railway line.
This is not a typical hiking route. After reaching the turn-off, hikers will tackle a steep descent into a wilder, more untamed section of the trail. The route includes a dark tunnel where bats may scatter on arrival, ankle-deep water crossings, wet shoes, stream sections, and a secluded waterfall in the hidden area known locally as Narnia.
This hike is best suited to prepared hikers who are comfortable with uneven terrain, water, steep descents, low-light sections, and a raw outdoor experience. A headlamp is required, and all participants must bring the compulsory Venture Butik emergency kit.
