Valentia Island Triathlon

The Valentia Island Triathlon on 28 September 2024 is a thrilling long-course triathlon event set against the stunning backdrop of County Kerry. The swim leg kicks off from Renard pier, where competitors arrive via the Valentia Island Ferry and then swim back to Valentia Harbour. Cyclists face a challenging 4km ascent at the start of the cycle leg, followed by a scenic route across the island. As you approach the far end, a breathtaking left turn offers panoramic views of the Skellig, leading past the top of the Portmagee bridge to Chapeltown. The route then descends to Knightstown for the transition area. The run leg is an energizing out-and-back course, initially following the cycle route for 2.5km before turning back downhill toward the finish line at the Royal Hotel. Participation in this exciting event requires a Triathlon Ireland One Day license or equivalent.
