Stainbank Spring Trail Run | 2026

The 2026 Stainbank Spring Trail Run takes place on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at the beautiful Kenneth Stainbank Nature Reserve in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. 🌿🏃‍♂️

This meaningful trail running event is proudly organised in support of the Kenneth Stainbank Honorary Officers, a dedicated group of volunteers who help maintain the reserve and support important wildlife conservation and monitoring efforts within the park. By entering, participants are helping raise funds to protect the wildlife, trails, and natural environment of this special reserve. 🦌💚

Runners can choose between two distance options: a relatively easy 5km trail route or a more technical 12km route featuring some single track. Both routes start and finish at the famous Coedmore Castle, located at the top of the main road as you enter the reserve. 🏰🌄

The event is supported by MetPac-SA, a metal packaging Producer Responsibility Organisation focused on environmental sustainability, recycling, waste reduction, and responsible environmental practices. This aligns strongly with the event’s conservation-focused purpose. ♻️

Water tables will be available on route with hydration and snacks. Please note that the event is cupless, so participants are encouraged to carry their own hydration packs or collapsible cups. No water sachets will be provided, and no litter may be left on the trails. 🚯

Children aged 12 years and younger can enter the short course for just R50, making this a great outdoor event for families as well as experienced trail runners.
