Formosa Peak | 2026

Summit Formosa Peak (1,675m) — the highest point of the Tsitsikamma Mountains on the Garden Route — on a guide-led 9km out-and-back from Krakeel River. Expect sustained climbing (~1,115m elevation gain), rocky singletrack and short scrambles; sure-footedness and confidence on steep terrain are recommended. Compulsory safety kit is checked before departure: space blanket, whistle and cohesive bandage. This is a wilderness outing with no organiser-provided amenities — bring your own hydration, snacks, sun protection and layers.
