About The Crossways Challenge
30th Sep 23 - Port Elizabeth
The Crossways Challenge Trail Run is a grueling and challenging trail running event that takes place in the scenic Crossways Farm Village, located in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. The trail run is open to both amateur and professional trail runners who are looking for a test of their physical endurance, mental strength, and navigation skills. The Crossways Challenge Trail Run features a variety of terrains, including steep inclines, rocky paths, river crossings, and dense vegetation, which runners must navigate through using only a map and a compass. The route covers a distance of 30km and has an elevation gain of approximately 1000 meters, making it a challenging and technical trail run. Participants must be well-prepared and equipped with the necessary gear, including trail running shoes, hydration packs, and nutrition, as there are no aid stations along the route. The event organizers prioritize safety and require all runners to carry a whistle, a space blanket, and a cellphone for emergency purposes.
