Langeberg Athletics Club
Discover the rich history and vibrant spirit of Langeberg Athletics Club, established on 20 August 1991 as the Langeberg Harlequins Club. Originally focusing on running and cycling, the club has flourished over the years, adopting maroon and white as its distinctive colors in 1998. What sets Langeberg Athletics Club apart is its unique approach—operating without a clubhouse, the club thrives on mutual trust and strong friendships among the diverse towns of the South Western Districts. Guided by the rules of Athletics South Africa and Athletics South Western Districts, our club has grown exponentially, fostering a community-driven ethos. Experience the legacy of Langeberg Athletics Club through its flagship event, the Vlakte Marathon, inaugurated in 2001. This iconic annual marathon, stretching from Heidelberg to Witsand, reflects our commitment to promoting athleticism and camaraderie. Join us in celebrating the joy of sportsmanship and the enduring spirit of Langeberg Athletics Club.
